Description

Nestled in the heart of Green Alsace, the first vineyards in Cleebourg were planted in the 8th century by Benedictine monks from Wissembourg Abbey. From the Middle Ages onwards, this vineyard was the pride of the region and its wines were already crossing borders.

Replanted in 1942 with noble grape varieties, the Cleebourg vineyard has been growing steadily ever since. Today, no fewer than 200 winegrowers, united in a cooperative, cultivate 165 hectares of vines spread over the communes of Cleebourg, Oberhoffen-lès-Wissembourg, Rott, and Steinseltz.

The vineyard showcases the full range of Alsatian grape varieties: Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc Auxerrois, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Muscat and Gewurztraminer... Authentic flavors to be discovered along the wine trail, during a stroll between hillsides and enchanting panoramas.

And to prolong the experience, let yourself be surprised by a unique site: the white stork reintroduction center, located at the starting point of the hiking trails. A living symbol of Alsace that completes this immersion in nature and wine-growing traditions.
