Dambach-Neunhoffen

A village of mountainous character situated in the Schwarzbach valley. The valley bottom ends in a peat bog near Neunhoffen. There is a pillbox, an interesting structure of the Maginot range. Ruiniform and panoramic rock formations, the ruins of the Chateaus of Hohenfels, Schoeneck and Wineck are accessible from Dambach. "Highland cattle", cows of Scottish origin introduced by the North Vosges National Park to maintain the valley bottom, welcome the visitor as he enters the village.
