SUR LA ROUTE ROMANE D'ALSACE

The former Benedictine Abbey of Saint Peter and Paul features a diversity of styles (Romanesque,Gothic and Baroque).

It also conceals a real treasure: the tapestries of Saint Adelphe from the late 15th century. Woven from threads of silk, hemp, linen and gold, with a total length of almost 20 meters, they feature around 165 characters and illustrate the life of the legendary Saint Adelphe (Visible during tours of the abbey church)

Nearby, the old collegiate church of Saint Adelphe was built between 1190 and 1225 by the Benedictine abbey to house the relics of Saint Adelphe. The new building accommodated the many pilgrims while preserving monastic life. The style presents an interesting milestone between late Romanesque and Gothic architecture

Visits to the 2 buildings are free every day from 9am to 7pm all

the year, except from January 15 to March 31(closed).

Guided tours of the abbey church, crypt and tapestries take place during the summer months (July-August), on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays at 3:30pm (departing from the chapter house).
