The fortified town of La Petite Pierre is located in the heart of the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park. Built starting in the late 12th century and later modernized by Vauban, the Château de La Petite Pierre and its fortifications are perched on an imposing sandstone spur 250 m long and 80 m wide.
Let us guide you through the picturesque alleys of the staedtel (old town) to discover its must-see sights. The tours will be led by Georges Gerlinger, a passionate tour guide, who will accompany you on this journey into the heart of La Petite Pierre’s history and heritage.
The tour will begin with a stop at the Garden of Poets, offering a panoramic view of the ramparts, the castle, and the church’s bell tower. The tour will continue through the historic center, exploring remarkable architectural heritage: the Saint-Louis Chapel, the Church of the Assumption and its 15th-century frescoes, not to mention the many anecdotes that will enliven the walk.
