Heritage & restaurants in Salm

The Mennonites, a branch of the Anabaptists, lived apart from the local population on the high plateaus, including in the hamlets of Salm, Les Quelles and Fréconrupt from the 18^th century. They were known for their austere lifestyle but also for their talent for farming and raising livestock. During a future hike, you can explore the Mennonite heritage trail (available from the Tourist Office).
