Other sights to see in Urmatt

The washing place in Urmatt: 20 m from the Town Hall in Rue du Général De Gaulle on the Bruche side, you can see the washing place in Urmatt. It was commissioned by the municipality and recreates a traditional washing place. It was completed in 2020, with the addition of paintings showing washerwomen at work and daily or historic scenes. Next to the running water, the washerwomen once beat their dirty washing and used “Waschkestels” (wooden boxes) upon which they could kneel down and keep their washing paddles and soap.
