Workers’ housing

During the 19th century, the factory
owners in the Bruche area had large
numbers of homes built, which were
made available to employees of their
companies.
These are very representative of workers'
dwellings, considered to be “minimal
but sufficient.”
They include two rooms, a kitchen, a cellar and an attic and sometimes
a lean-to for livestock.
