A multi-talented artist and lead singer of the rock band Dionysos, Mathias Malzieu is also a prolific author, whose wildly poetic writings appeal to all generations. To open the Colmar Book Festival, he invites the audience on an exquisite musical journey through his literary world.
The titles of his books alone could form a poem: *The Smallest Kiss Ever Recorded*, *Diary of a Vampire in Pyjamas*, *The Man Who Listened to Cats’ Hearts Beat*, *Metamorphosis at the Edge of the Sky*, *The Joyful Disruption of Love’s Metrics*… To mark the publication of his new novel this autumn – the title of which has been kept a closely guarded secret – Mathias Malzieu transports us to an enchanted world suspended between heaven and earth, where the magic of winter blends with lunar poetry. To present this brand-new story, he takes to the stage for a literary and musical acrobatic display, interweaving bursts of rock, songs, immersive readings and stand-up comedy. Accompanied by his partner Miky Biky, alias Michaël Ponton, guitarist with Dionysos, he takes us on a journey through his bittersweet world, where Elvis Presley’s legendary ‘Blue Moon’ echoes. Never far from the coming-of-age tale, Mathias Malzieu’s literary work throws wide open the doors to a world as whimsical as it is delicate. Joyfully free!
