As part of the Christmas charity concerts in the Pays de Sainte-Odile, this concert featuring the Gospel Quartet presents original, rhythmic music that tells the dramatic story of Black slaves in the southern United States up through the 19th century.
Gospel music, which originated among enslaved people, is an authentic, rhythmic genre born from Protestant hymns in English, reflecting pain and despair. The Quartet, based in Strasbourg, has been performing since 2018 in various churches and cultural venues throughout Alsace, the Vosges, and Franche-Comté.
A benefit concert for the organizations Obern’aide and Les Amis des Pensionnaires des Berges de l’Ehn.
