Archaeology Takes Center Stage in the Casino Park! Through November 15, 2026, Niederbronn-les-Bains is hosting the traveling exhibition “FRAGMENT,” a unique experience that brings together archaeological heritage, contemporary design, and technological innovation. Housed in a specially converted shipping container, this exhibition invites visitors of all ages to discover, in a new way, the traces left by the inhabitants of our region over the centuries. Five objects, five eras, five fragments of history: the exhibition features five archaeological artifacts from discoveries made in Alsace Bossue, each bearing witness to a different period in human history. Another distinctive feature of “FRAGMENT” is its exhibition design, which is unexpected to say the least. Conceived and curated by Anatole Boule, an archaeologist and museum curator, the exhibition places the objects at the heart of a contemporary installation: they are presented and handled with care by a robotic arm, operated by visitors. This curatorial choice creates a striking dialogue between objects—some of which are thousands of years old—and cutting-edge industrial technology. The goal is also to spark curiosity and question our relationship with the past: how can an ancient object still speak to us today?
