Drawing on the life of actress Ysanis Padonou, director Romain Gneouchev has created a deeply moving work of autofiction centered on early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Alone on stage, equipped with an earpiece ready to prompt her lines in case of memory lapses, the actress explores the fragility of memory and identity with great sensitivity. Blurring the lines between theater and reality, personal narrative and social commentary, the production weaves a dizzying reflection on illness, grief, friendship, and the passing down of memories. An intimate and deeply human work, where emotion arises as much from the sincerity of the personal account as from the power of the performance.
