Formerly a noble court of the 13th century, in 1726 the property became the property of the Thierry family, descendants of Huguenot refugees from Lorraine, before a painted canvas factory was set up there in 1754. This elegant building, with its symmetrical facade with sculpted decorations, was acquired by the town in 1876 to build a school, in order to relieve congestion in the existing establishments. Classrooms for boys and girls were installed there. The school, which on the eve of the First World War became a girls-only school, was gradually modernised.
