Guémar through the ages' interpretation trail

The "Guémar through the ages" interpretive trail takes visitors on a 1h30 loop to the Canardière pond and back (1h), where, guided by "Norbert, the Mallard duck", they will "experience" an amazing wild duck hunt in the middle of winter (explanatory panels illustrating duck hunting).

The "Guémar through the ages" interpretation trail takes visitors through the village streets. Along the way, visitors discover the following themes:

- the atmosphere of the washhouses of yesteryear on the banks of the Fecht and the work of the washerwomen,

- fishing and wine transport by water, which was one of the main occupations of Guémariens in the Middle Ages and Renaissance, at the Ladhof site (former fishing port),

- the village of Guémar, an ancient passage and control point for goods by land and water, whose fortifications included the now-defunct Château du Molkenbourg,

- the festive meals of the lords and the banquets filled with exquisite dishes in the Middle Ages,

- tobacco drying kilns and the important role of tobacco growing

- wild duck hunting at the Canardière pond
