Decorative Arts Museum

The Museum of Decorative Arts is housed on the ground floor of the Rohan Palace. The former residence of the four cardinals of Rohan, bishops and princes of Strasbourg, was built from 1732 to 1742 on the plans of architect Robert de Cotte.

This visit to the luxurious state apartments created for the Cardinals* is followed by a chance to discover Strasbourg’s decorative arts dating from 1681 to the mid-19th century (including the world-renowned Hannong ceramics, furniture, sculpture and painting, timepieces, ironware, pewter and the magnificent gold and silverware items).

 

*Due to the installation of an exhibition, the apartments will be closed to the public from Monday 21 September to Thursday 19 November 2026 inclusive.
