Pottery workshop Fortuné Schmitter

A family-run craft business since 1844, producing genuine Alsatian salt stoneware. This pottery, both functional and decorative, is made entirely in this workshop and has just been awarded the ‘Potteries d'Alsace’ geographical indication. The firing process, characteristic of Betschdorf production, gives the pottery its authenticity. This is where all the expertise comes into play. Salt glazing makes the pieces waterproof and durable.
