The oboe d'amore has inspired many composers. This double-reed, conical bore instrument owes its nickname "d'amour" to its sweet, melancholy sound. The cantata is one of the most important poetic and musical genres of the 18th century. First imported from Italy, and much in evidence in Bach's Germany, it was later appropriated by France to the point where it came to resemble opera, placing the text at the heart of the performance and blending arias and recitatives in the service of drama. This program, conceived as a dialogue between the oboe d'amore and the voice, takes us on a journey through 18th-century Europe, with the Jonas Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Nicolas Jean, with mezzo-soprano Anaïs Yvoz and oboist Laurent Bringel. With : Nicolas Jean, Conductor / Anaïs Yvoz, Mezzo-soprano / Laurent Bringel, Oboe d'amore / Mathieu Baicry and Anne-Laure Martini, Violins / Micaela Heim, Viola / Amy Kuras, Cello / Christopher Luckett, Organ.
