Marie Sans and Alice Letort share a passion for chamber music, and fell under the spell of the romantic guitar, a 19th-century instrument. Together, they have explored the duo repertoire. Audiences will discover a rare, delicate and profound sound, in a program that highlights the music of the 19th century, when the guitar was very much in vogue in the salons of Paris, Vienna and London. Marie and Alice also explore the Baroque repertoire through their transcriptions. They choose a variety of works, sometimes light-hearted, sometimes dreamy, sparkling and theatrical, which appeal to music lovers and a wider public alike. It's in the spirit of 19th-century salon concerts that La Grange Passion welcomes these first-prize winners of the Ligita 2023 International Competition. You'll discover the multiple sound colors of the guitars in the dialogue and artistic complicity of the two musicians.
