The Convent of Bischenberg

Ajouter à la sélection
The origins of the sanctuary date back to at least the 16th century. A document from 1505 already mentions the presence of a custodian who enjoyed privileges granted to his predecessors.

The convent, now occupied by the Congregation of the Redemptorists founded by Alphonsus Liguori, is also an important pilgrimage site dedicated to Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows. These pilgrimages were interrupted only during periods of war or occupation, before quickly resuming, particularly for the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary.

The sanctuary has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1965.
