The Pump Don't Work is a rock band with a 70s and progressive sound. Their original compositions feature lyrics primarily in English. In concert, the band also plays covers, mostly in French. While their musical inspiration comes primarily from rock, their compositions are influenced by artists such as Bob Dylan (the band’s name is taken from the lyrics of “Subterranean Homesick Blues”) and Neil Young, for example, as well as literary figures like Nietzsche.
The band consists of the following musicians:
- Olivier DIEBOLD, songwriter, composer, and performer, on guitar and vocals
- Fabrice BECHET on keyboards and arrangements
- Bernard ROHR on bass
- Franck HEINRICH on percussion
